Architecture for Humanity seeks architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings design services to communities in need. They believe that where resources and expertise are scarce, innovative, sustainable and collaborative design can make a difference. By tapping a network of professionals willing to lend their time and their talents to helping those who would not otherwise be able to afford their services, the group supports community development, helps communities rebuild after disaster and provide pro bono design services to community partners around the world.

Design that Matters creates products that improve the services of social enterprises in developing countries. DtM leverages the skills and intellectual capital of hundreds of volunteers in academia and industry to create breakthrough solutions for communities in need. Its goal is to empower our clients to deliver a better quality of service and a better quality of life to one million beneficiaries in the next five years.

Habitat for Humanity International seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. The group has built more than 250,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

InformeDesign transforms research into an easy-to-read, easy-to-use format for architects, graphic designers, housing specialists, interior designers, landscape architects, urban designers and planners, and the public.

Public Architecture puts the resources of architecture in the service of public interest. The group identifies and solves practical problems of human interaction in the built environment and acts as a catalyst for public discourse through education, advocacy, and the design of public spaces and amenities. Launched in 2005, The 1% program of Public Architecture is a first-of-its-kind program to encourage pro bono service by architects and designers.

The Seawater Foundation focuses on using seawater, which represents 97 percent of Earth’s water supply. The group researches and promotes not desalination but growing plants directly on seawater, which is perhaps the only unlimited natural resource on the planet.
